Hidden Hearts French Garden was my class demonstration in North Texas today, and, as you can see from the class photos, there was a fashion theme afoot, or rather, ahead, or rather, on top of Le Head! Adorned in pink berets, these gals produced so many beautiful French vistas, I was brought to tears at one point. Or perhaps it was the sight of the chocolate covered donuts! Next stop is Shreveport, Louisiana and before you know it, Tuscany, Italy! I love my job!

Frayssinet Sunset is the newest daily in Flower Mound Studio, based on my recent visit to Southern France. I'll be teaching in this charming village next August, and can hardly wait to return. Tomorrow we'll be filming a new video in North Texas, so I did a little flower shopping today with Howard Pee Pugpants at the nursery here in Flower Mound. I hardly had time to put the pugmobile in park when the first crowd of adoring fans stepped up to greet Mister Howard, with pats and exclamations of his absolute handsomeness. Howard loves an audience and all the attention that comes with it, and gave several slobbery autographs before helping me pick out just the right blossoms to paint on camera tomorrow. What on earth would I do without my studio helpers to guide me in the right direction each day?

Peaceful Pasture by Pamela Blaies

Every time I visit the farm out near the Hill Country where my mom lives, I am inspired to paint landscapes.  There is so much beauty out in the country. I was captivated by this scene when I saw the way the light hit the fence posts and sparkled on the high grass in the distance.  See the auction for this painting HERE.

Country Road Take Me Home by Pamela Blaies

Country Road Take Me Home

My mom was running late when I arrived in Georgetown last week and forgot to leave me a key. While waiting, I took a little time to walk down this gravel road out to my mom's farm as the sun was going down. It was so quiet and peaceful. I was awestruck at how blue the road looked at that time of day. I didn't have my paints with me, so I took some photos and intensely studied the colors I saw to commit the scene to memory. I worked loosely to get the fresh feeling of a plein air piece.
