I have done this scene before in acrylics on canvas. Who knows, I might do it again in oils.

I loved it! The colors, the panorama, the distance, it's a painting waiting to happen! I believe it's a scene near Blanco here in Texas.

Last Light Over the Hills Frayssinet, France..Pastel..Texas Artist..Rae Andrews

Another landscape of the area around Frayssinet in southwest France . This area is dotted with sheep farms, and wonderful pastures.

I just happened to be walking at twilight and saw this heavenly sky, just had to try and do it justice.

I also love this panoramic format, challenging but perfect for this genre.

The substrate is a sanded paper, not sure which one, but it's not Sennelier. Maybe Wallis?

Diving into my stock drawer is a bit of a lucky dip with selecting my papers for pastels. :))

Every time I visit the farm out near the Hill Country where my mom lives, I am inspired to paint landscapes.  There is so much beauty out in the country.
