This cross combined a piece of hand printed cotton and a medallion

that  I made with the same wax that I used for the body of the cross. Each cross is first layered three times with bee's wax before the color and design is applied.

This is another in my cross series  it is titled "Triumphant". I am very excited today because I opened my Etsy shop, AnEye4Art . I enjoyed incorporating the hand printed cotton strips into this piece.

The rains this spring and summer in Texas produced the most incredible array of wild flowers. Driving in the Hill Country was a feast for the eyes and a balm for the soul.

The wax gives this painting both a tactile as well as visual effect.

This butterfly made an appearance on one of my plants last year and I quickly sketched it. I did  this 6x8 encaustic from from my sketch.  I enjoyed the subject because it was a challenge to capture the character in this media.
