This was a fun watercolor! I used a size 38 brush, which is huge, 

but it kept me from being too picky with putting the color down. 

After I painted it and it was dry, 

I used a bamboo calligraphy pen and using waterproof ink, 

drew the black lines.  16x20 with a mat and frame.

This one came straight out of my head, without using any reference. I've always believed that cats are little furry dragons of a sort.

About the style and medium: I wanted to find a way to do pen and ink that could eliminate the need for glass, so that the painting could be enjoyed without any barriers between it and the viewer. Acrylic ink acts like acrylic paint; once it's dry it can be varnished over, and there you have it.
