High Tide

This exciting, textural abstract painting on canvas depicts the movement of the ocean waves as the high tide comes in.  Having lived on the Gulf coast of Florida, we rarely saw a tide come in with much force.  But on the Atlantic side of the state, the ocean rushes in quickly, washing away anything that is in its way. 

This painting is gallery wrapped on 1.5" deep bars.  The sides are painted in black/gray Micaceous Iron Oxide, for a finished look.  The painting is signed on the side, is wired and signed on the back.  It is wired and ready to hang.  Framing is optional.

Only the finest professional acrylic paints have been used in the creation of this painting.

This original abstract painting on 140lb watercolor paper was created by layering many glazes of acrylic paint over a textured surface.  Scrubbing and scraping out areas of color creates subtle textural passages and reveals "what lays beneath".  This painting was inspired by the marsh landscapes seen near Merritt Island in Florida.

 

The painting is bordered by 2" of white watercolor paper.   It is ready to be matted and framed or simply "floated"

to show the deckle on all four sides.

"I Am Worthy" calligraphic painting by Theresa Bayer

Just having a little  experimental calligraphic fun. Picked out a phrase "I am worthy" and lettered it over and over on the canvas, in all directions. Then filled in with a few other colors. This was fun and relaxing to do. A bit like a tangle, only with words. So I guess it's a Wangle.
