Breaking the Rules
24"x30"x1.5"
Acrylic/mixed media on canvas
Whenever
I have a painting that's been sitting around gathering dust, I usually
just gesso over the painted canvas and start all over again. Layers of
paint and built up medium add to the texture of the new painting and
make it more interesting than if it were on an absolutely pristine
canvas. So, my advice, for what it's worth, is to not be afraid of
painting over an old painting. No sense having it sit in the corner not
being of use to anyone, and who knows, the next one might be the
masterpiece you've been waiting for.
