Time Out

This one is a pastel on velour paper.

I was asked to do a demo for the Austin Pastel Society last year. Great fun. This is my practice piece in readiness for the demo, I had to time myself to see if it was possible to finish it within an hour..I did!

It was a rotating demo, where five artists begin in front of their own work and for 10 minutes can get it mapped out before they are made to change and rotate to the next artit's work. Artsist scurry in a frenzy to get their pieces drawn out and a good start for the next step.

For the next 50 minutes this process is repeated till the artist ends up in front of their own piece again.
then the corrections (and there were lots! Ha) begin.

The piece is then auctioned off for money for the scholarship fund for Austin Pastel Society to help our young and upcoming artists.

The rotating demo piece sold, it was 16 x 20"
This practise piece is still for sale. If you are interested contact me please.

See the step by step demo of this one is on my blog:
