                   This is another small watercolor I have been playing with of late.. 
                  It has been so long since I painted, I was getting very depressed..
                                  We artists need our studio time don't we?

Garden Gaiety..Watercolor..Texas Artist..Rae Andrews

A loose and spontaneous watercolor, this one was great fun to paint.

I did not pre-draw anything. I just found shapes onto which to build my flowers after a loose throw of paint.

I am always telling my students to leave the whites of the paper showing through, and to be aware of the shapes they make as well, no two white shapes should be the same size and importance.

If the design is a good one, the painting should be successfully turned in most directions and still look okay.

Try it, this way of painting is very freeing..
