Texas Ranch, by Melissa A. Torres, 24x36 acrylic on canvas

Commission. While I love my pet portraits and am very grateful to those who commission me to paint their furry family members, this was a nice change. I haven't painting this large in quite some time so it was a bit of a challenge in the beginning. This is a painting of a ranch here in TX. It will be going to Seattle soon.

Here are some pet portraits I have done. Feel free to contact me to commission a painting of your furry friend. Sizes range from 3x3 to 11x14 in oil or acrylic. I am no longer be able to accept ones for Christmas at this time.

Wedding Day Couple, by Melissa A. Torres, 18x24, acrylic on canvas

This painting was a commission from a gentleman who had previously bought a painting from me. Like me, both the bride and groom are from New York, she of Puerto Rican descent (like myself), and he of Panamanian descent. The reference photo was of the two of them dancing on their wedding day with his uncle in the back playing the conga drums.  I first planned on painting it almost exactly like the photo, but I decided to remove the background so that they would be the only subjects in the painting. I also added hints of orange and yellow to the background because I felt this couple was just way too fabulous to have a neutral background, as I originally had painted it. They were both very pleased with the painting and have asked me to do another painting for them.

Tyler and Mia, by Melissa A. Torres, 12x12 acrylic on canvas

A gentleman in Seattle purchased a painting of mine of the San Antonio Riverwalk. His wife is from San Antonio. Appreciating my style of painting, I was commissioned to paint his two pooches. These were truly a pleasure to do.  These were to be hung in his newborn's nursery. Not knowing the sex of the baby, I decided to paint on a neutral background. He did a great job in picking in the photos he wanted to use as reference.
